The Brazilian, who was away from competition for 14 months due to a doping accusation – he was cleared after proving that he ingested contaminated supplements – scored his third consecutive victory in the organization. On Saturday night (09), in the main fight of the UFC Wichita, the person from Santa Catarina was not aware of Derrick Lewis and knocked out the third-ranked player in the second round.

Still in the octagon, the Brazilian didn't miss the opportunity to ask for a chance at the title, which he already owned between 2011 and 2012. “How can these guys be in front of me? I want my chance at the belt”, he said.
The fight
The fight between the heavyweights started off cautiously, with none of the athletes wanting to leave any space to be attacked. The North American, visibly bigger and heavier, surprised at the beginning with some plastic strikes, such as a flying knee and even a double kick. But the Brazilian dodged well. In turn, Cigano attacked with movement, avoiding standing still to avoid receiving Lewis's powerful blows.
Halfway through the first round, Junior connected with a kick to the waist line and Derrick even flinched. However, when the Brazilian went forward, he was almost surprised by a right blow. Afterwards, Cigano still scored points with his rival cornered close to the fence.
In the second round, Lewis tried to kick the Brazilian's base to prevent his movement, but Cigano avoided staying still and frustrated his rival. At ease in the octagon, the Santa Catarina native combined jab and straight shot, which made the North American, once again, cower. This time, he wasted no time and with a series of blows he took his rival to the ground and forced referee Herb Dean to stop the fight and declare a technical knockout.
