Serginho Moraes will go into action for the first time in 2019 at UFC Wichita, this Saturday (09). The Brazilian will face Anthony Rocco Martin at welterweight in the last fight on the preliminary card. If he wins the match, the São Paulo native plans to return to the Octagon in UFC 237, on May 11th, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro. The fighter wants to test his jiu-jitsu skills against Demian Maia.

However, his compatriot is not Serginho's first option. The Brazilian prefers to face Michael chiesa who recently moved up to welterweight. However, he states that regardless of the opponent, the show is guaranteed.
“Now I want the Michael chiesa. But Demian Maia That would be good, huh? If Demian came, it would be good too. Imagine a fight between me and him now in Rio de Janeiro. (…) The one who is in the foreground is Chiesa, but if the UFC already thinks it's time for me to face Demian, they'll put me in the game. I'm already scheduled for Rio, and we're going to make this fight happen”, revealed Serginho in an interview with the Ag. Fight website.
Before thinking about a fight in Rio de Janeiro, Serginho will have to overcome Martin in the United States. Rocco promises to be a thorn in the side of the São Paulo native, as he comes from three consecutive victories in the organization. Despite also having his specialty in grappling, Moraes believes that Anthony's strategy will be to leave the fight standing.
"He (Anthony Rocco Martin) is a grappler (specialist in grappling), but it turns out that every grappler who fights with me becomes a striker (specialist in stand-up combat). So, I have to pay close attention to that”, concluded Moraes.
