Junior Gypsy will measure forces with Derrick Lewis in the main fight of UFC Wichita, next Saturday (09). Fresh from two victories, the Brazilian wants to win a third victory to have the chance to regain the heavyweight belt.

In an interview with the Combate channel website, Cigano said that two victories put him back in contention for the title.
“I'm already qualified to fight for the belt, what I need is to beat whoever is ahead of me in the rankings. One or two more wins and I think I should be fighting for the title again. I want to face the best, the best of the best. And I think this could be a great opportunity, Lewis is well ranked, a good victory puts me in good stead”, said Cigano.
Previously, Lewis assured that he was not worried about Cigano. He chose the Brazilian as the 'weakest rival' he has ever faced. Despite his rival's harsh words, Júnior praised the American's knockout power.
“He is very strong, he has incredible knockout power. But, technically, he's not all that, he's lacking in some things... You have to be very careful, be careful at all times. But he likes to talk too much. He's a pretty controversial guy, but regardless of what he has to say, he's going to take a lot of 'it here' [making the fighting fist]”, said Junior.
Cigano was suspended for doping in 2017. The Brazilian managed to be acquitted by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) after proving the use of a contaminated supplement. The Brazilian returned to Ultimate in July 2018, when he beat Blagoi Ivanov in a unanimous decision. At the end of last year, Junior knocked out Tai tuivasa at UFC Adelaide.
