Change of plans for UFC Ft. Lauderdale, an event that takes place on April 27th, in Florida (USA). The miner Paulo borrachinha, which would be the main fight of the attraction against Yoel romero, was removed from the card. In his place, the organization called up the Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare to edit a long-awaited rematch against the Cuban.

The fight between Romero and Borrachinha had already been threatened since last month. Despite the event's announcement, the Cuban had not yet signed the contract to face the Brazilian. To top it off, he even injured his knee during a TV show in the USA.
With the uncertainty about Yoel's participation in the show, Ultimate tried to schedule the duel between Jacaré x Borrachinha, but the man from Manaus refused the dispute, stating that he would only return to the Octagon to face a better ranked athlete – Jacaré is 3rd in the middleweight rankings , while Borrachinha is 7th.
Amidst so much uncertainty, the UFC decided to remove Paulo borrachinha attraction and marked the rematch between Yoel romero e Ronaldo Jacare. The duel was readily accepted by both athletes.
Jacaré and Romero already faced each other at UFC 194, in December 2015. On that occasion, the Cuban won in a close decision by the judges. The Brazilian still contests the side judges' marking.
