UFC Prague: Klidson Abreu breaks his nose early in the fight and loses to Magomed Ankalaev

Brazilian received a blow to the nose in the first round and still fought until the end; he ended up defeated by the judges' decision in his UFC debut

The premiere of Klidson Abreu It wasn't the way the Brazilian expected. The 'White Bear', as he is known, broke his nose in the first round of his fight against Magomed Ankalayev and ended up defeated in a unanimous decision by the judges (30-27, 29-28, 30-27). The fight opened the main card of UFC Prague, an event held this Saturday (23), in the Czech Republic.

The result interrupts Manauara's streak of six consecutive victories and adds the third setback in his career. He also has 14 wins. On the other hand, Ankalaev has his 10th victory as a professional, in 11 fights – his second in the UFC.

The fight

The fight between Klidson and Ankalaev started out studiedly. After a quick counter of catches, the Russian fired a straight right that hit the Brazilian's face and broke his nose. From that moment on, Ankalaev took control of the dispute. Shaken by the blow, the man from Manaus still managed to fight the fight until the end of the first round.

In the second round, Klidson, despite his nose bleeding a lot, tried to take the initiative in the fight. But Ankalaev avoided attacks and was quick to counterattack, always landing the best attacks. Unsuccessful in the stand-up fight, Abreu tried to take the fight to the ground. but the solo player showed good takedown defense and kept the fight on the fence until the bell sounded.

Magomed Ankalayev he returned to the third round, controlling the dispute. The Brazilian, already quite worn out, tried to attack his rival in any way, showing a lot of courage, but without success. The Russian controlled the dispute, without exposing himself, until the bell sounded and he prevailed in the judges' decision.
