The fight between John Lineker and Cory Sandhagen was rescheduled for UFC Miami, on April 27th. The bantamweights were scheduled to face each other at UFC Brooklyn, but the Brazilian suffered a back injury and was withdrawn from the event held in January. The information was given first-hand by the website of the North American channel ESPN.

The Brazilian is in sixth place in the ranking of the bantamweight category and has two consecutive victories in Ultimate. His last commitment was at UFC 224 in May 2018, when he knocked out brian kelleher. Lineker was called up to face the former category champion, Dominick Cruz at UFC 233, but he ended up leaving the fight due to an injury. Thus, the organization called Sandhagen to be the combat replacement. However, John was injured and was forced to leave the fight.
With Lineker's departure, Cory faced mario bautista at UFC Brooklyn in January of this year. The North American submitted his opponent at 3:31 of the first round. The bantamweight won three victories in three fights in Ultimate. He has had 11 fights in his professional MMA career, including 10 victories and one setback.
