Brazilian John Lineker already has a new opponent for his first fight in 2019. After the former champion's injury Dominick Cruz, a rival who would face off against the Paraná native at UFC 233, 'Mão de Pedra' will face off against Cory Sandhagen at UFC Brooklyn, an event that takes place on January 19th. The information was released by ESPN in the USA.

Lineker, who has a professional record of 31 wins and eight losses, is ranked seventh in the bantamweight rankings. The fight against Cruz, second on the weight list, could give the Brazilian a chance at the belt. However, as Cory Sandhagen is not yet in the top-15, the dream of the title will have to wait a little longer
In turn, Sandhagen, who has a record of nine wins and just one loss, debuted in the UFC in January at featherweight. On that occasion, he beat Austin Arnett, however, in August, the North American moved down to bantamweight and beat the Brazilian Iuri Marajó.
