Cris 'Cyborg's relationship with the UFC may be coming to an end in March this year after almost two years of partnership. For the Brazilian to continue in Ultimate, her manager and the MMA organization need to reach an agreement so that the contract can be renewed. The Curitiba native guaranteed that she wants to remain in the franchise, but did not rule out leaving the organization.

“My manager is in contact with the UFC, to see if it will be renewed, if there will be the next fight or what will be done. I am waiting. […] I would like to stay, because it's my opportunity to have a rematch (against Amanda), but if it doesn't happen… And, as they removed my category from the website, I have to see how things are going. Whether it is true or not (that the category is over). […] I think they want to be together too, but if they don’t want to, another event will,” explained Cyborg, speaking to the press on Monday (11) in Rio de Janeiro.
The former featherweight champion stated that she continues with her daily training routine despite the uncertainty of her future in Ultimate after losing her belt to Amanda nunes at UFC 232 in December last year. The Brazilian assured that she can continue fighting in Ultimate even without competing for the belt in the 65,7kg category.
“I don’t need to fight for the belt. I can fight at my weight, regardless of category, and make the sport grow even more”, said Cris.
Despite the end of her contract, the Curitiba native asked Ultimate for a fight at 'home' at UFC 232 in May. She also named the organization as a possible rival for the fight: Megan anderson.
“I asked to fight in Curitiba, I know about the rumors that Holly (Holm) wants to fight Amanda (Nunes) there, but I'm leaving it up to my manager to find out what happens. In fact, there is no one in my category, only Megan anderson. I think it would be right for me to face Megan, we should have fought before. She left it open that she could fight me, but that is in the hands of the UFC”, concluded Justino.
