UFC removes featherweight division from ranking after Cris Cyborg defeat

The category that was represented only by the former champion was removed from the ranking after the Paraná native suffered a knockout against Amanda Nunes at UFC 232

Ultimate updated its rankings on the first day of 2019 after UFC 232 on Saturday (29), in Los Angeles (USA). However, a change went almost unnoticed by those who accessed the organization's website. The women's featherweight category was removed from the list after the defeat of Chris Cyborg for Amanda nunes by knockout at 51 seconds in the co-main event of the last show of the year.

The change was not seen, as previously the category was represented only by the champion's face. Ultimate had not constituted the ranking of the division that has few female fighters.

PUBLICITY:

By beating Cyborg, Amanda won the featherweight belt and still did not appear as the division champion. The UFC has not spoken about the change and what it will do with the featherweight division. One of the possibilities that can be chosen by the franchise is the extinction of the category.
