Charles do Bronx and four others receive 180 days of medical suspension at UFC Fortaleza

Charles of the Bronx was one of the highlights of UFC Fortaleza, an event held last Saturday (02), in the capital of Ceará. He submitted David Teymur and scored his fourth consecutive victory in the organization, but not everything went well for the fighter. The São Paulo native received 180 days of medical suspension from the Brazilian MMA Confederation (CABMMA), the entity that sanctioned the show.

During the dispute, Charles received two fingers in the eye from Teymur and will need to be evaluated by an ophthalmologist. If the doctor authorizes it, he will be able to compete again before the 180 days of suspension.

In addition to the Bronx, five other athletes received 180 days of suspension: David Teymur, Felipe Cabocão, Rogerio Bontorin and Magomed Bibulatov.

Bontorin and Bibulatov suffered injuries to the big toe on their right foot and will need to be evaluated by orthopedists, while Cabocão will need to treat an injury to his nose.
