The confrontation between José Aldo e Renato Moicano at UFC Fortaleza, held on Saturday (02), was the most anticipated by MMA fans. However, the co-main event was ended 44 seconds into the second round, when the referee stopped the fight and declared victory for the 'people's champion' by technical knockout. Contrary to Jerin Valel's decision, the Brasilia native stated that the judge was hasty in ending the fight.

In a video posted on his social networks, Moicano explained that in his opinion he had won the first round and returned for the 'more active' second round, but was unable to see the blow where Aldo started the sequence of attacks. Renato believes that the referee stopped the fight a 'little' early. At the end of the conversation, the fighter questions what the fans thought about the case.

“Speak up, kids, okay? I'm here to say that everything is fine with me, my fight was stopped by technical knockout, but in my opinion the referee (Jerin Valel) stopped it a little early, but that's ok, life goes on. I'm here having a good time after the fight. I'm making this video to respond to everyone. Everything is ok (with me), no injuries, no injuries, let's go to the next one ok. I was having a good fight, I think I won the first round, in the second round I came back more active. I don't remember the blow, I couldn't see the blow where he started to make that explosion, but I believe the judge stopped (the fight) a little earlier, and you (followers), what do you think?”, asked Moicano.

The opinion of Moicano's businessman

Contrary to Renato's position, his manager, Alex Davis, stated that the judge's interruption of the fight was fair. “Moicano is my athlete and I love him. But he didn’t react and, for me, the referee acted correctly in that situation,” he said.

Moicano is my guy, and I simply love him to pieces. But he was not reacting. The ref took the correct action and stopped the fight. Simple as that
