Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor McGregor and those involved in the widespread fight at UFC 229 were judged by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC), on Tuesday (29). In an interview with the website of the North American channel ESPN, Nurmegomedov's manager, Ali Abdelaziz explained that due to the harsh punishment imposed on his team partners, Nurmagomedov will no longer fight in Las Vegas.
“He no longer fights in Vegas because they gave his brothers such harsh punishment. He loves MSG (Madison Square Garden). Many of his fans live nearby, and New York has always been a great place for him. He misses fighting in New York,” said Abdelaziz.
The champion's manager criticized the Commission for imposing a fine ten times larger on Khabib, while Conor will only have to pay US$50. “I don’t think it was fair. Khabib fined 500 thousand and Conor 50 thousand? This is bullshit”, said Ali
The lightweight champion should return to UFC in November when his teammates will also be free to fight. Abdelaziz said that Khabib's desire is to return to the octagon at Madison Square Garden at the end of the year.
