Khabib Nurmagomedov finished Conor McGregor at UFC 229 in October last year and retained the lightweight belt. With the victory and new status in the organization, the Russian began to choose which fighters he would or would not like to face. In an interview with the North American website Submission Radio, 'Eagle' revealed a list of clashes that would benefit his legacy and his bank account, in addition to being able to retire as 'the greatest athlete of all time'.

“I don’t know yet, but why not St. Pierre, Ferguson and Mayweather? I could face these three guys and retire as the greatest athlete of all time,” said Nurmagomedov.

The lightweight champion highlighted that Georges St-Pierre would be the ideal opponent for a confrontation. Furthermore, Khabib considers GSP to be the greatest athlete in UFC history.

“Georges St-Pierre is a very big name. I like opponents who are tough, and he's still a little bigger than me. If we are going to fight, it will be at lightweight, because welterweight is his category, and he would be a little bigger than me. I think it's a smart decision to want to bring him to lightweight. GSP would be a great challenge for me, for my legacy. It's a big fight for the legacy, for the fans, for the wallet... for everything. I don't know what your plans are for the future, but I respect you. In my opinion, Georges is the greatest athlete to ever compete in the UFC, as he is a champion inside and outside the Octagon. Let’s wait…” said Khabib.

When talking about the confrontation with Mayweather, the Russian stated that he could be the fighter to end the boxer's unbeaten record. According to Khabib, Mayweather is old and small and therefore could 'finish' him.

“He’s old now. If we are going to think about facing new lions in boxing, it will be very tough for me. Guys like Canelo or Golovkin are very dangerous. But Mayweather is already old, he's 41 or 42 years old. But, of course, he's a big name. If we have the chance to catch a giant fish, why not try it? A lot of people don't understand the age factor, about what you did when you competed younger. They think 'Mayweather', or 'Conor', and that's it. They don't know what actually happens. I can take everything they have. For example, the 50-0 record. I can finish him off because Mayweather is old and small. This is also a smart decision considering all aspects”, concluded 'The Eagle'.
