Colby covington would be the next challenger for the welterweight title against Tyron woodley, but was passed over for Ultimate. The organization chose to scale Kamaru Usman to face the category champion at UFC 235, March 2, in Las Vegas (USA). In an interview with the North American program The MMA Hour, 'Chaos' bet on an easy victory for 'Chose One'.

The former interim welterweight champion did not spare his attacks on the 'Nigerian Nightmare'. Covington stated that Usman is not a relevant athlete and belittled the victories that led her to a fight for the division's belt.
“Woodley (wins), of course. Usman is not relevant, nobody cares about him, people don't want to see him fight. He didn't beat someone in the Top 10 coming from a victory. The guy only beat fighters who are drafts of what they once were (Rafael dos Anjos e Demian Maia), because I hit both. I retired those guys, I took their souls, they don't want to fight anymore, they're finished. After losing to me, they gave up, they’re thinking about getting a few more checks and retiring,” said Covington.
It's not the first time that Ultimate has left 'Chaos' aside and chosen another athlete to face Woodley. In September last year at UFC 228, the organization called Darren till to fight for the welterweight title. At the time, Covington was unable to fight because he needed nose surgery.
With that in mind, Colby believes Ultimate should choose another fighter to challenge for the welterweight belt after UFC 235.
"Who knows? They'll probably try to bypass me again and put someone else in. But the point is that no one else is at the top. Only I am. Who else is there?” concluded Colby.
