“What I would really like now is to be free, for the UFC to be considerate of me and free me. It's a matter of Ali talking to (Dana) now. […] I obviously love fighting in the UFC, but after this (situation), this unfair doping, I would like to fight in other promotions”, said Werdum.

The gaucho said he wants to fight again, but not in events in the United States. He assured that he would do 'the right thing' with the franchise.

“My idea is to do the right thing, which would be to terminate my contract with the UFC. I already told the UFC, I'm going to sign a term that I would no longer fight in the United States. I would fight abroad, in Japan, in Russia, in Europe, anywhere, but I wouldn't fight in the United States to avoid causing damage. I would sign this to be released. I just want to be free to do what I want, which is fight. It's not about money. I still have a lot to show. I'm 41 years old, but I feel like a child', concluded 'Vai Cavalo'.
