“This is the fight that determines who has the best jiu-jitsu (in the division). He has a sinister record, a lot of submissions, he has a lot more fights than me, but this is a fight that puts one of us in the top 15. We're going to be defending jiu-jitsu, Brazil, and it's a fight that makes sense and which will determine who has the best jiu-jitsu in the category. He's very good at jiu-jitsu, a good representative, on the rise, coming from several submissions, and would be a great test for me. We have different styles on the feet, he's longer, he works more from a distance, but I think it would end up on the ground, with us exchanging a lot of positions in a fight that's great to watch. I have tremendous respect for Charles, but I think it would be a struggle for everyone watching, with stand-up striking, high-level striking on the ground and a real struggle,” said Durinho.

For Durinho, the ideal date for the duel would be UFC 235, in the first quarter of 2019. “On March 2, in Las Vegas, I think it would be great for me and for him. I just fought, he did too, he has his family, his little son, we can enjoy Christmas, I enjoy it here, in January we start training and in March we face each other. For me it would be great,” he added.
