Charles do Bronx submits Jim Miller and challenges Max Holloway: 'This division is mine'

Brazilian expanded his record as the UFC's top finisher and set his sights on a duel against featherweight champion

Charles of the Bronx waited almost eight years for the rematch against Jim Miller. But as soon as he entered the octagon, the Brazilian needed just over a minute to submit the North American with a beautiful rear naked choke. The fight was an attraction on the main card of UFC Milwaukee, held this Saturday, in the USA.

With the triumph, Charles extends his record as the greatest finisher in the history of Ultimate. The black belt from São Paulo reached his 12th submission. Behind him, Royce gracie continues with 10 and Demian Maia with nine.

After the victory, the Brazilian took aim at none other than Max Holloway, featherweight champion (up to 65,8 kg.) who could move up to lightweight soon. “Dana (White, UFC president), this is my division. Max Holloway He said he wanted to move up to lightweight. May come. When we fought I had some health problems, but now I'm here and I want to welcome him”, he said.

The fight

As soon as the fight started, Charles closed the distance and quickly got the takedown. Without wasting time and ignoring the North American's black belt, the Brazilian quickly reached the back. With skill, he secured the rear naked choke and tightened the choke. Miller still tried to resist, but ended up hitting him to avoid fainting.
