Brian ortega had to wait six months to be able to face Max Holloway for the featherweight title at UFC 231, this Saturday (08) in Toronto. The first meeting was scheduled at UFC 226 in June this year, but the division champion was removed from the fight as he had concussion symptoms before the event. Even though he is focused on fighting in Canada, ‘T-City’ does not stop thinking about his future in the organization. The fighter admits that his long-term plan includes a victory over ‘Blessed’ and a superfight with the lightweight belt holder, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“I have ideas of what I want to do, and if I beat [Holloway] I hope I can start asking Dana White for fights. I like superfights. I want superfights. I want guys that I can match well with, where people don't know what's going to happen”, said Ortega in a meeting with the press on Monday (03).

The featherweight said that watching Nurmagomedov beat McGregor with a submission in October at UFC 229 made him realize he is an opponent he wants to face.

“I was seeing a lot of things in this fight, where if I were in that position I would do it differently. It made me realize what I want to do in a superfight [with Khabib]. If I play my cards right, it will be within my reach,” Brian explained.
