Tito Ortiz announces retirement after victory over Chuck Liddell: 'I did what I needed'

The 'Bad Boy from Huntington Beach' managed to avenge his losses to 'Iceman' in the early hours of Sunday (25) and stated that he will end his MMA career: 'I want to enjoy life'

Tito Ortiz knocked out Chuck Liddell in the first round of the main fight of Golden Boy MMA in the early hours of Sunday (25). The 'Bad Boy from Huntington Beach' avenged his two losses to 'Iceman' and announced he is ending his MMA career. In an interview with the North American program Ariel Helwani's MMA Show, the veteran assured that this time the decision to retire is definitive.

“There’s no reason to go back and fight anyone else. Who's there? There's no one else out there. I fought with who's who. I did what I needed to do,” said Tito.

In a 21-year career, Ortiz faced fighters such as Randy Couture, Vitor belfort, Rashad evans, Ken and Frank Shamrock and Forrest griffin. At 43 years old, Tito assured that he will now enjoy life.

“I want to enjoy life, man. I want to do business. I want to focus on what the next chapter is going to be,” concluded 'Bad Boy from Huntington Beach'.

Tito Ortiz He was UFC light heavyweight champion between 2000 and 2003 and defended the title on five occasions. He was one of the first fighters to be inducted into the Ultimate Hall of Fame. 'Bad Boy from Huntington Beach' first announced retirement in 2012 when he was defeated by Forrest griffin. The veteran made his return to MMA with Bellator in 2014 and hung up his gloves again in 2017.

The veteran ends his career in mixed martial arts after 33 fights, 20 wins, 12 losses and one draw.
