UFC athlete says he will continue fighting after his girlfriend's death

Raulian stated that he thought about ending his MMA career, but decided against it because Tieli Alves was one of his biggest supporters

Raulian paiva and his girlfriend were hit by a car after an argument in a nightclub on October 21 in the municipality of Santana, Amapá. The UFC fighter was thrown, but Tieli Alves was stuck on the motorcycle they were riding on and was dragged for at least 20 meters. As a result of the fall, she hit her head hard on the asphalt and was admitted to the ICU of the Emergency Hospital, but died on Saturday (27).

The fighter stated that after his girlfriend's death he thought about ending his MMA career. However, Tieli was one of his biggest supporters and this motivated him to continue fighting for her.

“For me, I didn’t fight anymore, I just stayed at home. But I promised I would fight for her. I know she wouldn't want to see me give up. I intend to move on and stay in the UFC, but I will do it for her. I'm going to make the whole world know who Tieli was. She deserves this”, explained Raulian in an interview with the website GloboEsporte.com.

On his Instagram Raullian paid tribute to Tieli. “You will always be my girlfriend, my princess, my everything. I'm heartbroken, I'm helpless, but I know she's in a good place now, she's in the Lord's arms. I love you my guardian angel!” he posted.

According to his coach Ronildo Nobre, Paiva should return to training in November in the United States. Raullian won the UFC contract by winning Allan Puro Osso in the reality Contender Series Brasil.
