At just 26 years old and with seven fights on his record, Marcelo Golm carries, alongside other fighters, the status of 'new generation of Brazilian MMA'. Before taking action next Saturday (27), at UFC Moncton, in Canada, against Arjan Bhullar, the Brazilian, who has had a triumph and a setback in his career in Ultimate, is keen to take on the responsibility of being one of the representatives of the country in the largest fight organization in the world.

“I don't feel pressure because I'm coming off a defeat. In fact, I've been using it to motivate myself and win my next fight. I'm still new to this sport, I still need to evolve a lot, but I consider myself part of the new generation of Brazilian heavyweights and I will always try to represent my country in the best possible way”, declared Marcelo, in an interview with the American website 'Bloody Elbow'.
Considered a promising heavyweight for the category, Golm debuted in the house by submitting Christian Colombo, but was then defeated in the decision by veteran Timothy Johnson, last February. According to him, the mistakes made during his last fight will not be repeated against Bhullar, who has a style of play similar to that of the only executioner in his short career, which has six wins and just one defeat.
“Tim Johnson really only knows how to fight by suffocating, he's too annoying to fight against. Even though Arjan is a better wrestler, he's not that tough, so I believe he won't try to choke me that much, but if he does, I'll be prepared. I have been training with excellent wrestlers on the American Top Team”, concluded the São Paulo native, who has been training on the American team.
