After finishing Conor McGregor at UFC 229, Khabib Nurmagomedov challenged Floyd Mayweather to a boxing match between 'undefeated' fighters. The boxer accepted the fight, but wants the duel to take place in Las Vegas, the stage for big fights. Contrary to his rival's plans, 'Eagle' revealed on his social network that he spoke with the general secretary of the Russian Boxing Federation, Umar Kremlev about the fight. He wants the meeting to take place at the 2018 World Cup final venue, the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow.

Nurmagomedov believes that holding the boxing match in Russia could set a new record in pay-per-view sales.
“We talked about the fight with Mayweather. We want the fight in Moscow, at the legendary Luzhniki Stadium. We are confident that we will attract 100 people and also set a world record for PPV sales,” Khabib posted.
The main reason why the UFC lightweight champion wants to hold the fight in his country is the presence of his father in the corner. “But the most important thing is that my father will be in my corner, as a visa is not required for Moscow”, said 'Eagle'.
