The decision was made shortly after the unanimous decision defeat to Jussier formiga at UFC 229, held last Saturday (06), in Las Vegas (USA). However, playing in the bantamweight division will not be new for Pettis, who has already had four fights in the division in Ultimate, totaling three positive results and one negative. At 25 years old, he has a record of 17 wins and four losses (8-4 in the UFC), having already defeated significant opponents such as John Moraga, Joseph Benavidez e Brandon Moreno. His CV also includes the flyweight belt of the extinct RFA and bantamweight of the NAFC.
Sob Font, in turn, gained notoriety for facing a series of Brazilians during his career in Ultimate. In eight fights in the company, he faced five Brazilians, four of which in his most recent fights. He lost to John Lineker, Peter Munhoz e Raphael Assunção, but defeated Douglas Silva de Andrade and Thominhas Almeida. In addition to the Brazilian quintet, Font faced – and beat – George Roop, Joey Gomez and Matt schnell.
