Khabib Nurmagomedov endured the provocations of Conor McGregor throughout the UFC 229 promotion. But after submitting the Irishman in the fourth round, in the early hours of this Sunday (07), the Russian exploded. He shouted in his rival's face, jumped across the octagon to fight with the Irish team and caused widespread confusion at the event. This Sunday morning, calmer, the lightweight champion took to social media to apologize for his stance.

Through a post on Instagram, Khabib justified his attitude as being a 'matter of honor'.
“It’s certainly not what my father taught me, but it was a matter of honor. The victory is ours, we have the belt. When Allah is with you, no one can break you. Nobody. Thank you so much, guys, for your support.”
Still in the UFC 229 press room, Khabib did not give an interview, just made a quick statement apologizing to the UFC, the city of Las Vegas and the state of Nevada. However, again, he justified his attitude to honor his family.
“Sorry UFC, Nevada Athletic Commission, Sorry Las Vegas. That's not my best side, but I'm a human being. He spoke badly about my family, my father, my country, my religion and broke that bus in Brooklyn (at UFC 223). I don't understand how people are mad because I jumped the octagon after that,” said the Russian.
