Fábio Pateta, Mendes' coach, promises a surprise for Aldo: “His hand is very sharp”

The Brazilian José Aldo is considered the broad favorite to defend the featherweight belt against Chad Mendes of UFC Rio 2, an event that takes place this Saturday (14), in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. But depending on Fábio “Pateta” Prado, the challenger's jiu-jitsu coach, the public attending the HSBC Arena will be in for a surprise with his team's performance.

Known for his strong takedown game, Mendes stands out as one of the best wrestlers in the featherweight division, but according to Fábio, the North American will surprise Aldo with his striking.

“You will have a surprise tomorrow. Chad's hand is very sharp. If he has to change, he will exchange with Aldo during the five rounds”, said Fábio Pateta, to SUPER FIGHTS.

The commander also highlighted that Chad's physical preparation could be a differentiator. “Mendes’ gas is for giving and selling. And I think Aldo can't handle the pace of the fight”, said the confident coach, who at the end of the interview never stopped provoking his opponent.

“This time Flamengo will be runner-up”, said Fábio, who is a Vasco fan and provoked Aldo, who is a fan and sponsored by Flamengo
