In less than a week, Khabib Nurmagomedov will be facing its biggest rival, Conor McGregor inside the octagon. For almost two years, the Russian champion has been asking for a showdown with 'Notorious'. However, his motivation increased after the confusion involving the fighters' teams in April. In an interview with the North American program 'Ariel Helwani's MMA Show', 'The Eagle' assured that he will make the Irishman pay for the ambush at UFC 223.

“I want to make this guy pay, he will pay for everything he said and did. We are very close. I don't underestimate this guy, I know he has good timing and good boxing, but his heart is important. Whenever someone squeezes him, he hits. I'm going to stay on top of him, he's going to hit. When the fence closes I will be very close to him, and I will make him hit”, assured Nurmagomedov.
The lightweight champion believes that the franchise treats its rival differently. Since according to Khabib, Ultimate would have provided the two belts that McGregor took to the UFC 229 press conference.
Nurmagomedov believes that Ultimate wants Conor to win and be the new champion. “Of course they want him to win! With me, the UFC is also happy because I also have a big name, but some people in the UFC want him to win because he has a big name and they make a lot of money from him,” admitted Kabib.
Not even UFC president Dana White escaped Nurmagomedov's provocations. In Khabib's opinion, the franchise commander 'sucks up' to Conor.
“Dana needs to stop kissing his (McGregor) ass. That's what Dana needs. How can he ask (during the press conference). 'Where's Conor's belt?'. Don’t you know what happened in the last two years?”, criticized the Russian.
