McGregor confirms that rivalry with Khabib's team does not end at UFC 229

The most anticipated fight of the year will bring the Khabib Nurmagomedov e Conor McGregor in the Octagon at UFC 229, on October 06th in Las Vegas (USA). The fighters will face each other in a fight for the lightweight belt. Furthermore, fans believe that the fight will put an end to today's biggest rivalry. However, in an interview with the North American program 'Ariel Helwani's MMA Show', 'Notorious' stated that regardless of the result, the feud with 'The Eagle' group will continue after the duel.

The rivalry between the fighters became more intense after the Russians ambushed teammate Artem Lobov in April this year. In retaliation, McGregor attacked the bus transporting Khabib and other fighters, coaches and agents. The athletes were participating in UFC 223's 'Media Day'.

McGregor said he viewed the ambush on his teammate as a personal attack. Since, Lobov is one of the most important characters in the Irishman's career.

“If it weren’t for Artem, I wouldn’t be able to reach the level I am at now. Artem has done a lot for me over the years. The fact that they are both from the same place, and they were both there to fight, I helped Artem for this fight, and when it happened, it was a low blow. But there were many other things. He (Khabib) is a fake rat. F*** them all, and they will all get their asses kicked. It doesn’t end with this fight, they all better watch what they’re doing, be careful, as they’re all going to get hit”, explained the Irishman.

Conor hopes to defeat Nurmagomedov with a knockout. If the prediction is confirmed, McGregor will have 19 victories this way. The Irishman has 21 wins and three defeats in his career.

“I believe it will be a knockout, a devastating knockout. I don't think he can take a punch. Maybe he has the chin of a (Nate) Diaz or the composure of a (Floyd) Mayweather, but I don't think he has either of them. I think he has a glass chin. He's already taken a few hits there, but not from a 'sniper'. I hope he absorbs the blows and that I love him. Let's see who will talk there”, concluded 'Notorious'.
