McGregor's coach says: 'Conor will beat Khabib in the first round'

Conor McGregor e Khabib Nurmagomedov they will be the main characters of the 'biggest fight in Ultimate history'. The striking and wrestling specialists came face to face in the main fight of UFC 229, on October 6th in Las Vegas (USA). The 'Notorious' coach confirmed that the Irishman will finish off the Russian in the first round.

“I see Conor stopping him in the first round. I just don't see Khabib being able to do anything”, said Lobov in an interview with the North American magazine Mac Life.

McGregor's trainer recognized Nurmagomedov's wrestling ability. However, Lobov guaranteed that 'Notorious' will beat the Russian in the grappling fight as well.

“He can easily surpass Khabib in wrestling too. Of course this is Khabib's game, so we're not stupid. We will not fall for his trick, but we will be ready to win in all areas”, said Artem.

Conor's team's strategy is to recognize Khabib's fight time. This way, McGregor will be able to work on his striking and not let the Russian take the duel to the ground.

The last time Conor stepped into the Octagon was at UFC 205, in November 2016. On that occasion, 'Notorious' defeated Eddie Alvarez and won the lightweight belt. The Irishman has 21 wins and just three losses as a professional.
