MMA fighters have a big dilemma before stepping into the Octagon: making weight the day before to confirm the confrontation with their opponent. However, in heavyweights the difficulty decreases, as athletes have a window of 93,4kg. up to 120,7kg. When weighing the UFC Moscow, held this Friday morning (14), the protagonists of the main fight, Mark Hunt and Alexey Oleinik were on opposite sides of the divide. While the Russian weighed 106,6kg, the New Zealander weighed 120,2kg. A difference of 13,6kg.

During the weigh-in, two fighters failed to stay within the limits of their categories. Bantamweight (up to 61,7kg) Jin Soo Son was one pound (0,454kg) overweight and had 20% of his purse given up to his opponent, Petr yan. Lightweight (up to 70,8kg) Mairbek Taisumov exceeded the limit by 2,2kg (5lb) and received a 40% fine on his salary. The amount was reversed to his opponent, Desmond Green.
The only Brazilian representative on the card, Thiago Pitbull I needed to stay within the limit of the welterweight category. Without any problems, he gained the required 77,6kg. With that, he confirmed the meeting with Russian Alexey Kunchenko who also made weight.
Even with the athletes over the weight limit, the UFC confirmed the 12 fights called for the first Ultimate event in Russia.
O UFC Moscow will be held from 11 am (Brasília time) on Saturday (15).
