The US Anti-Doping Agency released a statement ruling out the suspicion of profiteering to free the former champion or any UFC athlete from punishment.

Jon Jones was caught undergoing a doping test on the eve of UFC 214 in July last year. However, more than a year later, the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has not yet announced what the fighter's punishment will be. Colby covington accused the regulatory body of plotting with 'Bones' managers a possible release of the athlete to make a profit. Through a note issued on Wednesday (12), the entity ruled out any suspicion of receiving money to exempt the former champion or any athlete from the franchise from penalties.

“In regards to some comments in the press and on social media, USADA wishes to clarify that under no circumstances do we receive payments as part of case resolution,” said USADA spokesperson Danielle Eurich.

In 2017, Jones failed a drug test for the third time in his career and has been suspended for more than a year. Waiting for a response from USADA, 'Bones' has been speaking out through social media.

Covington stated that USADA would be facilitating the return of 'Bones' to obtain financial return. In an interview with the “You Are Welcome” podcast in July this year, the interim welterweight champion also stated that the UFC has a large debt and Jones' return to the Octagon would generate a large amount of money for the organization.

“That despicable team of businessmen of his [Jon Jones], Malki Kawa and those guys are probably trying to pay off the UFC or USADA somehow to get him back early. And you never know from the UFC side, they want to do business and make money, so if he's available and USADA clears him, then they're going to want to do business and get him back to fight and make money for the company. They have a four billion dollar payment to pay, so they will do whatever it takes to make money and pay off the loan,” Covington said.
