After doping conviction, Werdum complains about USADA: 'My nickname is Vai Cavalo, not Vai Burro'

The Brazilian used Instagram Stories to tell his fans that at the 'right time' he will comment on the case that earned him a two-year suspension

After being sentenced to two years of suspension by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), the Brazilian Fabricio Werdum he did not hide his indignation. Convicted of being caught with the anabolic steroid trenbolone – used in cattle fattening – the fighter used his Instagram account to leave his response to the case.

“I'm here to talk about USADA's decision. When the time is right, I will speak out. (…) And also my nickname is Vai Cavalo, não Vai Burro”, said Werdum on his social network.

Werdum's penalty is retroactive to the date the suspected anti-doping policy violation was announced. Thus, Fabrício will be able to return to the UFC on May 23, 2020. The two-year punishment is standard for fighters caught for the first time using anabolic steroids.

Used to increase the weight of cattle, trenbolone increases muscle mass, strength and physical vigor. The steroid can be used injectable or as a cream.

Fabricio Werdum was scheduled to face Russian Alexey Oleinik in the UFC Moscow when he was caught taking an out-of-competition doping test. Due to this, he was removed from the main event in Russia. His last fight was in March this year at UFC London, when he was defeated by Alexander Volkov. His MMA record is 32 fights with 23 wins, eight setbacks and one draw.
