Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, continues to tease ahead of his return to Ultimate. Even though there is no set date, he guarantees that when he returns, it will be better than ever. On Thursday (16), the fighter took to Twitter to talk about his journey outside the Octagon.

“Every part of the journey is important. Triumphs and setbacks combine to make climbing what it's supposed to be. My feet are dug and I have a clear motivation about what I'm following and why. I promise you've never seen anything like what's coming," Jones said on Twitter.

The former champion's comment is in line with the analysis made by his coach, Brandon Gibson. He assured that 'Bones' is adding a knockout punch to his extensive arsenal.

“I think there's still a lot of growth possible [for Jon JonesJon is in his 30s now, I think he's really starting to develop one-strike knockout power, we saw that in the last fight [Daniel Cormier]. Before that, Jon was like a break-them, break-them-out, break-them-out, where the guys were never just cold, oblivious. I think now Jon is really developing a lot of light heavyweight power and he's going to really start putting guys to sleep,” Gibson explained on “The MMA Hour.”

To return to the Ultimate cage, Jones must first receive a sentence from the United States Anti-Doping Agency. He failed a drug test shortly after his July 2017 fight with Daniel Cormier. The trial does not yet have a date, but Jon's manager, Malki Kawa is optimistic that a decision will be made soon.

PUBLICITY:

“I am very confident that we will have a decision on this by the end of this month. They are trying very hard. I know everyone involved is working hard to reach a resolution. I know the UFC is anxiously waiting and we are dealing with USADA on a daily basis. They've been really good to us in that they really dig into this thing and look at it from a lot of different angles and things,” Kawa said on the “MMA Show” in July.
