Golden Boy MMA will hold its first mixed martial arts event on November 24th at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Organization president Oscar De La Hoya filed a request last month with the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) for the card to be held at the end of the year. The main fight of the show should be the third and final confrontation in the trilogy between Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz.

“We’re looking at the weekend of November 25th, Thanksgiving weekend. So, yes, let’s do it big like we do [in boxing],” Oscar De La Hoya told “Fight Hub TV”.
The franchise, which previously only held boxing events, has opened up the range of fights so that athletes can receive better pay. Golden Boy president promises to fix MMA's 'terrible' pay structure and ensure fighters are well compensated. After all, they put their health at risk for our entertainment.
“I'm really looking forward to getting into the world of MMA and making sure these fighters are being well compensated. Look, we risk our lives in the ring, so fighters should be compensated extremely well. The current structure is terrible. I've talked to many, many fighters in MMA and it's ridiculous what they get paid. It's crazy, it makes me sick to my stomach. So I'm going to start Golden Boy MMA for a reason, and it's going to start with Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz, to pay them correctly. Pay what they deserve”, explained Oscar.
There are no details yet on Liddell and Ortiz's payment. “We are both partners. De La Hoya wants his 40% and me and Chuck Liddell are going to split 30%,” Ortiz said on a recent episode of Submission Radio. “So that’s a complete recipe for the whole fight in general. And this is the whole thing I've been waiting for so long in mixed martial arts, to really make a difference, and we're going to do that with De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions,” said Tito.
