The former Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys NFL player has only two fights on his professional record. Wins don't guarantee a direct UFC contract, but Dana White sees Hardy as promising for the future. The program has so far guaranteed Hardy a development contract with the UFC, which guarantees him participation in smaller events until he is ready to join the franchise.
“He only has two fights, while the other guys already have up to 12 fights, some with an undefeated record of 7-0. Hardy has all the time in the world, and he still needs to work some more,” explained White.
