Mauricio Shogun says 'life goes on' after suffering knockout at UFC Hamburg

The former light heavyweight champion explained to his Instagram followers that there was a lot of dedication and training, but the night was better for his opponent, Anthony Smith

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Mauricio Shogun Street faced Anthony Smith which replaced Volkan oezdemir in the main event of UFC Hamburg this Sunday (22). The Curitiba native was surprised by the North American who in the first seconds of the fight threw a sequence of punches and elbows that left Shogun completely unconscious. Thus, he was knocked out 1m29s into R1. On his Instagram, the Brazilian stated that 'life goes on' after the defeat.

The Brazilian was looking to increase his winning streak to compete for a light heavyweight title fight against the champion, Daniel Cormier. The triumphs were over Corey anderson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira by decision, and a knockout from Gian Villante.
