Ultimate's new 'legend hunter', Anthony Smith, claimed another victim. The North American didn't even need two minutes to knock out the Brazilian Mauricio Shogun in the main fight of UFC Hamburg, this Sunday (22). 'Coração de Leão' in just 1m29s landed a sequence of blows that 'erased' the former champion while he was still standing. The first sports myth that Smith knocked out was Rashad evans in July this year at UFC 225. Shortly after the defeat, the American announced his retirement.

The fight
The first round began with the fighters measuring the distance and calibrating their blows. Shogun landed a low kick on Smith's left leg, who responded with a kick, and followed up with jabs and crosses that took the Brazilian off balance. Anthony threw a front kick that hit Rua in the head.
Shogun felt the blow and subsequently received very hard blows, which ended with a direct elbow to the forehead. Smith continued hitting Maurício until he lost consciousness while still standing. As a result, the Brazilian suffered a standing knockout at 1m29s of the first round.
