Lyoto hopes to have a chance at a rematch with Jon Jones

The Brazilian Lyoto Machida the fight began in front of Jon Jones, UFC 140, surprisingly. The Bahian karateka managed to work well on counterattacks and nullified any attack attempts on the champion. However, despite being punished and submitted in the second round, Lyoto hopes to have another chance to face Jones and try to win back the UFC belt.

At the press conference after the event, Machida stated that, despite not knowing if he can stop the champion, he is waiting for a chance to challenge Jones and have a rematch against the American.

“I can’t say who could beat him, but I definitely want another chance in the future,” said Lyoto. The Brazilian also stated that he lost the fight when Jones opened a deep cut on his forehead, which bled a lot, and according to the fighter himself, obstructed his vision.
