In recent weeks, there has been much speculation about the possible return of Conor McGregor to the Ultimate Octagon. The likely fight would be against the lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov by title. During the UFC 226 press conference, UFC president Dana White stated that the clash between the rivals is nothing more than rumors.

According to White, McGregor's future depends on what will be decided by the New York courts in July. “I’m not even thinking about Conor until – I’m serious. I know they're saying there are talks, but we're not talking about a fight right now. Conor has to get through July. Whatever happens to him in July, we'll find out. I don’t know what’s going to happen,” said Dana.
