After surgery, Robert Whittaker can return to training in seven weeks

The champion returned to training without using his right hand, but from August onwards he will return to specific preparation

Over the past week, UFC middleweight champion, Robert whittaker, underwent surgery due to a fracture in his right thumb that occurred during the fight against Yoel romero on July 09th. According to an interview with the website 'Combate.com', Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Smeaton Grange's gentle art coach, Alex Prates, stated that the expectation is that the Australian will return to specific training in seven weeks.

Prates confirmed that Whittaker has already resumed training this week, but is working without using his right hand. A new evaluation will be carried out by doctors at the beginning of July to have a more precise answer about the champion's release.
