Gegard Mousasi e Rory McDonald middleweight and welterweight champions respectively will hold Bellator's first super fight for the middleweight belt in San Jose, California (USA), on September 29th. The card will also feature a clash between heavyweights, Wanderlei Silva e Quinton Rampage Jackson.

Right after beating the Brazilian Raphael Carvalho by technical knockout in the first round and winning the middleweight belt, Mousasi challenged MacDonald to a super fight. The Iranian fighter asked for the fight, as he believes his opponent is one of Bellator's best athletes.
Mousasi, at 32 years old, has an extensive record with 51 fights, 44 wins, six losses and two draws. Even so, he had never won a belt even though he spent four years in the UFC.
The welterweight champion, Rory McDonald The 28-year-old has a record of 23 fights, with 19 wins and four losses. His last fight was a victory against the Brazilian Douglas lima in January of this year when he won the belt. If he wins, he will be the first fighter in the franchise to hold two belts simultaneously.
