The confusion caused by Walter Aires Neto and João Elias Alicate at Imortal FC, last weekend, brought harsh consequences to the athletes. Fighters who attacked each other after the referee stopped the fight for a medical evaluation will be suspended for 12 months from the event according to the show's president Stefano Sartori. The director spared no criticism of the athletes and reiterated his apology to the fans for the incident

“I would like to apologize on behalf of Imortal FC and reiterate that we do not agree with unsportsmanlike attitudes at our events. Both athletes were disqualified from the fight, received the appropriate contractual punishment and also a 12-month suspension from any event promoted by Imortal FC”, warned the businessman, who also thanked the Maranhão public for their receptivity. “Imortal FC 9 was a great success, we have never had so much exposure for our brand, both nationally and internationally. I would like to thank the Maranhão fans and our partners André Bradar and Maré Alta Comunicações, in the people of Silvio and Jota”.

The confusion between Walter Aires Neto and João Elias Alicate began when the central referee interrupted the dispute and requested the presence of a doctor in the fight area. At this moment, Alicate provoked and placed a cross in the face of Aires, who responded with more blows, including two high kicks that hit his rival's face. The two only stopped when team members and the event's support team invaded the cage to separate them (see the scene below). The fighters were disqualified and the fight ended without a result.
