“I'm more nervous than normal, especially coming off a fight like the last one. But I know that once the cage door closes, everything becomes automatic. So I don’t worry about that,” explained Mousasi.

Even with his nervousness about the main fight of the event, Mousasi is not worried about his opponent. Gegard said he is not impressed with what he has seen from Carvalho. He believes Rafael is a one-sided fighter vulnerable to different attacks.

“I have a lot of advantages, because he is not a wrestler. He's not really a jiu-jitsu guy. He doesn't push the pace, so that's an advantage for me. I have my game plan,” said Gegard.

The only advantages Mousasi sees in Carvalho are his height and wingspan. Gegard also considers himself faster than the champion. “I heard he has difficulties with weight cuts because he is so big. Strength will not be a factor in this fight, I believe. So speed is on my side. I feel like I will be the strongest fighter,” he concluded.
