“I was taken by surprise by the news that one of the tests taken by USADA in April was positive for a banned substance. I made myself available to USADA and the UFC and I am working with my team to understand what happened. I have always been very careful with everything I take and have always supported clean sport. You can be sure that we will clear up this misunderstanding and I hope to soon be able to get back to doing what I love, which is fighting,” said the Brazilian on Instagram.
Journalist Ariel Helwani, from the MMA Fighting website, on Monday (21) said that Werdum would face alexey oleynik at the main event of UFC Moscow In September. The organization did not make the fight official.
In an interview with the MMA Fighting website, Werdum's manager, Ali Abdel-Aziz, said that the UFC did not inform Werdum or his team that the fight with Oleynik was cancelled. “The entire UFC team and I are all working together to resolve this issue.
