UFC Reality Show opens registrations for edition in Brazil

The UFC finally decided to invest heavily in Brazil. After holding an event in Rio de Janeiro, in August, and scheduling a return for the beginning of 2012, now The Ultimate Fighter, the organization's reality show, arrives on national territory. The series, which will be broadcast in Brazil on Rede Globo, will begin with a selective stage held in São Paulo, on December 14th. And fighters who wish to compete for a UFC contract will be able to register from midnight on Saturday to Sunday (20).

“Let’s find the next one Anderson Silva, the next José Aldo or the next Junior dos Santos”, declared UFC president, Dana White, after announcing the agreement with Globo, which will also broadcast all of the organization's events in Brazil from 2012 onwards. “Right now, in a gym in Somewhere in Brazil, there's a kid who didn't get the chance to show the world what he can do – TUF Brazil will give him that chance.”

The first selection stage will be open to featherweights (up to 66 kg) and middleweights (up to 84 kg), but it has not yet been defined which weight division (or divisions) will compete for the contract. Those who want to apply should go to the website br.ufc.com to discover the rules, prerequisites and locations. You must be over 21 years old and under 35, and have at least three professional fights (two wins) on your record. Only 16 fighters will move into the home of The Ultimate Fighter and fight for a UFC contract.
