Before going up to Bellator's circular cage to face Frank mir last Saturday (28), Fedor Emelianenko went through a different situation than usual. He was questioned by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The revelation was made by the fighter's manager Jerry Millen.

“The FBI came to the hotel to talk to Fedor and they were very nice, they came to talk to Fedor for a few minutes, they talked to me, and that's all I can say about it,” Millen said in an interview with the Associated Press.

Even though Millen did not disclose any details about what was discussed with the FBI, there are likely a number of associations that could have led the agents to speak to Fedor.

Fedor is president of the “Russian MMA Union”, an organization that has ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin and United States President Donald Trump. Emelianenko was also the main fighter for the Affliction promotion. Affliction Entertainment's chief operating officer was Michael Cohen and United States President Donald Trump was one of the company's key stakeholders. Today, Cohen is part of the FBI investigation into possible Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election, in which Trump was elected to office.
