Ex-UFC Leonardo Macarrão faces Gadzhimusa Gaziev at Brave 12

The welterweight Leonardo Macarrão Mafra will finally make his Brave Combat Federation debut. After having his fight with Mohammad Fakhreddine canceled on the eve of Brave 6, the Brazilian signed a contract to face Russian Gadzhimusa Gaziev at Brave 12, which takes place on May 11, in Indonesia.

Macarrão, 28 years old, was one of the fighters chosen for the first season of The Ultimate Fighter and had two stints in the UFC. The welterweight signed with Brave to face Fakhreddine in April last year, but the Lebanese did not make the weight limit for the category and there was no agreement for the two to face each other. The Kings MMA athlete is coming off a technical knockout victory over Rogério Santos and has triumphs over names like Anthony Njokuani and Santiago Ponzinibbio. He brings with him a professional record of 14 wins and four losses.

Gaziev will have his fourth fight at Brave. The Russian made his debut for the organization in September 2016 at Brave 1 and beat Brazilian Thiago Monstro by technical knockout. After that, however, “Deadshot” was defeated twice – in Brave 2, he was knocked out by Carl Booth and defeated, in Brave 6, by Erik Carlsson.

Brave 12: KHK Legacy marks the event's debut in Southeast Asia, and will be played in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. In addition to “Macarrão” x Gaziev, five other fights have already been confirmed, including the debut of Mehdi Baghdad, also ex-UFC, and the return of Eldar Eldarov.
