Confirmed to face Amanda Bobby Cooper at UFC 224, on May 12, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), the Brazilian-American Mackenzie dern revealed that he had extra motivations for the event. The fighter will make her MMA debut in Brazil, her 'second home' and in front of her father, jiu-jitsu legend Wellington Megaton.

“It's very special for me to fight in Rio. It was something I had asked the UFC for. I was very happy that they gave me this opportunity. My family will all be present, and it will be the first time that my father will watch me fight MMA.” Dern said.
Undefeated in her short MMA career, Mackenzie, who debuted in the sport in 2016, is coming off a victory over Ashley yoder, at UFC 222, held in March of this year. Even with a short break from his last fight, when he debuted in the UFC, Dern hopes to present progress to Brazilian fans

Keeping an eye on jiu-jitsu after UFC Rio
