“This fight was good for me to stay in the competition rhythm. My opponent came in to win, the rule that only submissions count, not points, made me fight until I got the submission”, celebrated the strawweight. “Regarding the UFC, we have speculation that I will be making my debut in July, but nothing has been confirmed yet.”

The grappling event preceded the professional MMA card of the 8th edition of Imortal FC, whose main fight was the duel between the packed John allan and veteran Edvaldo Gameth, who replaced ex-UFC Rodrigo Monstro on weigh-in day. After punishing his opponent with low kicks until he collapsed to the ground, the Curitiba native defined the duel with a katagatame in the third round, recording his fourth consecutive victory.

The good run motivates the Chute Boxe middleweight to seek a place in the “Contender Series”, a program led by Dana White, which will have an edition for Brazilian athletes in Las Vegas in August.
