A year ago, Pride died

A year ago, the event that still has thousands of fans in Brazil and around the world ended. The Pride that led millions of people to love the fight, filled gyms, generated record audiences and created legends, had a melancholic end surrounded by accusations of corruption and links with organized crime, nothing grand like its shows used to be.

Its biggest competitor and buyer, the UFC, still had plans to continue with the name and not leave the Japanese fans in the lurch, however, without the support of the television stations, the Americans saw no other way out than to close the offices and cancel the activities in Japan.

Even so, a legacy was left and MMA fans still remember with great affection the wars that were fought in Pride, as well as the revelation of some fighters who are considered the best in the world to this day. It is worth remembering that of the five existing categories in the UFC, three of the belt holders were in the Pride rings (Anderson Silva, Quinton jackson e Rodrigo Minotauro Walnut).
