Bellator 56: Dudu Dantas secures a place in the final and Loro complains about the judges

The Brazilian Dudu Dantas will be the Tupiniquim representative in the final of the Bellator bantamweight GP. On Saturday night (22), in Arizona, the North American event held its 56th edition and defined the tournament finalists.

Dudu had a disputed duel against Ed West, but with good physical preparation and variation of blows, the Brazilian guaranteed his place in the decision. In the other semi-final, Nova União's dream did not come true. The Rio team had hopes of closing the GP final, however, Marcos “Loro” Galvão was defeated by Alexis Vila, in a result highly contested by the national team.

This Sunday morning (23), Dedé Pederneiras, leader of Nova União, showed his anger at the decision via Twitter.

“That night I couldn’t sleep. Loro was a poor boy, who left his family at the age of 13, in Manaus, with the dream of being a fighter. That dream was stolen yesterday (Saturday) for the second time by a Boxing commission, which understands nothing about MMA. This has to stop”, said Dedé, who exempted Bellator for the contested decision. “I would like to make it clear that the event is not to blame. Commissions make mistakes due to lack of knowledge”, he added.

Bellator 56 also featured another Brazilian in action. Making his debut at the event, Ricardo Tirloni submitted Steve Gable with a rear naked choke and scored his 14th career victory.
